Beads are presented to registered Scouts and Scouters for all events they attend. Round beads are worn on leather cords hung from a belt totem.

Green - Day event with no overnight camping

Orange - One day and night of camping

Blue - Two days and nights of camping

Black - Long term camping of six or more days and nights

White - Snow outing or overnight camping

Yellow - Hike of any length. No overnight camping required

Tan - Patrol event (Paper Trailer)

Clear - Good turn or service project (to other than Scouting)

Purple - Training event (Junior Leader Training, etc.)

Brown - Scoutmaster's special recognition

Red - Honor Scout for short term camp
